We Literally Wrote The Book On
Ohio Workers’ Compensation

Whether you are the victim of a workplace injury or disabilities, we can help you get the benefits you deserve.

SSDI and mental conditions

In Ohio, many workers suffer disabling injuries and illnesses. An accident that leaves them paralyzed from the neck down, lung disease from dust or solvents their workplace, or crippling nerve pain from an unknown source can make it impossible for an afflicted worker to ever obtain gainful employment.

For those disabled workers, there is a program that can provide economic assistance. The Social Security disability insurance (SSDI) program pays disabled workers benefits, regardless of how they became disabled. And there are many, little known, diseases that can strike a worker, leaving them disabled and out of work.

A recent news story tells the story of a man who began suffering from strange behavior while at his insurance brokerage. He was threatened with eviction by the building managers for his “disruptive behavior.”

As his condition worsened, he had to be placed in a memory care facility before he had reached age 40. He had fallen victim to frontotemporal degeneration (FTD). A degenerative brain disease, it progressively disables a person as they loose self-control, engage in inappropriate social behavior, and their language skills degrade.

His wife and his parents struggled to figure out what had happened to the man, and his wife was devastated by the diagnosis.

FTD is often misdiagnosed as another mental impairment, like Alzheimer’s or nerve disorder, like Parkinson’s. It is rare enough that many doctors have never seen a case. This can be a trying struggle for the family, as they attempt to find help for the victim and manage financially without the income they had formerly provided.

SSDI can help disabled workers suffering from FTD and any other disabling condition.
